

Livingstone Based Female Artist Yande Yombwe of WayiWayi Arts Studio and Gallery,
was born in 1994 as a first born of Lawrence and Agness Yombwe. She is a mixed media Artist. Yande completed her school at St Marys’ Secondary School where she did her grade eight to twelve from 2007 – 2011. In 2016, she received an Art Teacher`s Diploma from Evelyn College. She worked as An Art Teacher at Tongabezi Trust School for 2 years from 2016-2018.
She currently lives and works at Wayi Wayi Art studio and gallery with her parents helping to run the family business.
In 2017 she took part in a one week Financial Sector Deepening Zambia workshop on Creating Women’s Financial Inclusion which took place at Wayi Wayi Art Studio and Gallery in Livingstone. This year in February, 2018 she took part in a one week Creative Entrepreneurship workshop which took place at Modzi Arts. In May, she took part in another workshop which was themed Capacity Building Workshop for the creatives which was held by Ministry of Tourism and Arts in partnership with Zambia breweries.

So far, she has taken part in 5 exhibitions first one being a Children’s Art Exhibition which was held in Livingstone in 2009. In 2014, she also took part in a Women’ Exhibition which was held in Choma in 2014. In 2017, she took part in an exhibition organized by financial sector Deepening Zambia entitled Know, Plan and Live, which was held in Lusaka. In the same year she participated in Kuboneshango (ii), it was also a women’s art exhibition in which was held in Lusaka. In December 2017, she exhibited at the Deli in a Christmas small artworks exhibition in Lusaka. Yande was the youngest exhibiting female artist in all three women’s exhibitions that she has participated at many events and also puts smiles on Children’s faces by using her talent to create animated prints as she does face painting. Yande is always a jovial and has a warm heart.
