ZAMBIAN GRADUATE OF WUHAN UNIVERSITY CHINA TAKES SPECIAL EFFECTS MAKEUP TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE ZAMBIAN MOVIE INDUSTRY
Make up is really important, you can be a woman who wants to look good and still stand up for the equality of women because make up gives you the unbelievable ability to do things you never thought you can do, in short makeup can be used to express yourself in any way and those experiences should not be limited to women. Everyone should be free to be as colorful as they want to be.”” That’s one of the things I love about makeup it doesn’t only change how you feel about yourself but it can help you change your whole attitude by just doing your eyeliner or lipstick differently.” With me I honestly don’t think I could live without hair, makeup, and styling, let alone be the artist I am. I am a glamour girl through and through. I believe in the glamorous life and I live one.”
23-year-old Akaketwa Kaziyah Namuchile is not only a student who recently graduated under a program International Economics and Trade at Wuhan university in China but a great makeup artist, she is a talented young girl and very innovative young lady that sees a bright future in movie industry she is a self-taught freelance makeup artist she says .“Makeup is malleable and mercurial: The biggest joy I have every day is the opportunity to create, to play, and to invent with something I’ve loved forever.” Make up is something I developed interest in since childhood, but I started taking my work seriously in 2016 when I was in my first year at school and because things weren’t going well so I did makeup to get through the stress, like I already said makeup is a childhood interest I remember growing up I used to watch my mom and aunties do makeup so my interest started from there.
One of my greatest inspiration in this field is an elder sister to a certain friend, she is a makeup artist who I used to follow on Facebook when I was in grade 10, I followed her page and learnt new things and I always refreshed it to see the new work she had done, And I fell in love. I knew then I was hooked.
I think to me being a great artist is the only thing I want to be. I only want my creativity to reach the greatest heights because It’s all that I live for. “but I’m yet to explore and see what the business side of being a makeup artist has to offer, however on a more personal side I would say never underestimate the power of meeting new people. I’m a very shy person so meeting people for the first time for me has always been a challenge but with this it really doesn’t matter who I work with, I’m so comfortable when I’m in my zone. Truth is I’ve met some really amazing people who I’ve also learnt from and some have turned into great friendships.
As for the challenges I would say it was hard when I first started out. Getting people to trust me with their face and skin was very challenging. But I made sure I spoke to them and assured them they were in the right hands. I believe all women are beautiful, wearing makeup or not. The right makeup only accentuates a woman’s face, mood and makes her powerful. I am grateful for the opportunity to help women feel their best, whatever that is to them, whenever I am entrusted with their makeup vision. I am also challenged to put my best foot forward to ensure my clients satisfaction.
My future plans are to take my art to the film industry in Zambia I believe it can play a major role the in the industry and my encouragements to other girls and women. They should set goals and work hard to achieve them. Nothing should stop them, there will always be people discouraging you and others will encourage you. Pay attention to those that encourage you and lastly Don’t compare yourself to other people just focus on being the best at what you do.
